Carnival Corporation Steps Up with $60,000 Donation for Vanuatu Earthquake Relief

In the wake of a devastating earthquake that struck Vanuatu on Tuesday, Carnival Corporation has stepped up to provide crucial support for relief efforts, announcing a donation of $60,000 to assist in the recovery of the affected communities. The 7.3-magnitude quake, which hit off the main island, has resulted in catastrophic consequences, with at least 14 lives lost, numerous injuries, and widespread destruction in the capital city of Port Vila. Carnival commended the ProMedical team for their dedicated efforts during the critical first 48 hours following the earthquake, as they searched for survivors and offered care to the injured. "Our donation will help ensure our long-term partner ProMedical has everything they need to undertake their lifesaving work and to continue ongoing care to the people of Vanuatu," said a representative from Carnival. The corporation has also extended an offer for its ships to provide practical assistance if required and is maintaining communication with the Vanuatu National Disaster Management Office and other aid organizations.
