"I want to make the most of the opportunities that sports provide me, but my studies are equally important." The pressure of competitiveness in youth volleyball is palpable, but Galilea has found ways to cope with it. "My parents always support me and remind me of humility. It doesn’t matter if we lose; we are girls, and the most important thing is to learn and enjoy the game," she wisely states. The presence of psychologists on her team has also been a valuable resource for managing stress and the challenges they face. Galilea also reflects on her life in Cusco and how that experience has shaped her. "It was a family environment, where we all took care of each other. Now I'm in a different place, but I always carry the support of my people with me," she assures. Her relationship with her teammates has evolved from a tense beginning to a solid camaraderie. "At first, we didn't know each other well, but now we are like sisters," she shares.
