War

On the 267th day of war in the Gaza Strip, Israeli attacks continue relentlessly, leaving a trail of devastation and pain that seems endless. With a death toll of 37,834, mostly women and children, and over 86,858 people injured, the situation in the region is becoming increasingly desperate and heart-wrenching. The Israeli army has announced its persistence in operations in the Shujaiya neighborhood in the northern city of Gaza, citing the presence of Hamas militants in the area. This offensive has resulted in a high number of casualties, with at least 52 people dead and over 300 injured, as reported by the Director General of the Gaza Ministry of Health, Muneer Alboursh. The Palestinian Civil Defense has warned about the dire situation of families trapped in this neighborhood, without access to water or food for three consecutive days, and has requested urgent evacuation of the wounded. Meanwhile, in other areas of the Strip, such as Rafah, Israeli forces have continued their indiscriminate attacks, causing more deaths and destruction. The population of Gaza is in a desperate situation, exposed to eight consecutive months of Israeli fire, leading to a significant increase in health problems, including disabilities acquired as a result of the bombings. The NGO Rehabilitation Sector Network has warned that at least 10,000 people have been left disabled due to the violence. Meanwhile, in Israel, the popularity of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has significantly declined, with two-thirds of Israeli citizens believing he should not seek reelection and should leave politics. Netanyahu faces criticism for his handling of the conflict in Gaza, with accusations of prolonging the war for personal political interests. Pressure on Netanyahu is mounting with threats from ultra-Orthodox and far-right parties, pillars of his coalition, demanding concrete actions in the context of the Gaza conflict and other fronts. While citizen protests in Israel call for his resignation and early elections, uncertainty and desperation prevail in the Gaza Strip, where the civilian population continues to be the greatest victim of a seemingly endless conflict.
