The Congress is the "main responsible" for the instability and crisis Analyzing the recently concluded legislature of Congress raises the inevitable question: was the time taken advantage of for technical evaluations and long-term agreements on key issues such as insecurity, corruption, and political and economic stability? Unfortunately, the answer is negative. Instead of advancing reforms that benefit the country, the majority in Congress has opted for decisions that generate controversy and setbacks. From the beginning of the legislature, there was speculation about whether the congressmen would demonstrate with their votes what their true priorities were, and sadly, they did. Among the few things that were approved, several setbacks and lack of consensus on urgent matters stand out, such as the prohibition of running for public office for those convicted of serious crimes, highlighting the political differences that prevail in Congress. A large part of the approved initiatives focused on declarations of "public necessity" or "national interest," while more than 130 proposals sought to create new universities, including a recent report that aims to establish 13 new institutions, despite technical objections. While changes were achieved such as the reelection of mayors and regional governors, the return to bicameralism, and the reelection of congressmen, these were not part of a comprehensive reform aimed at a specific objective. In addition, the elimination of regional movements and the lack of clarity in the election of senators and deputies raise uncertainties about the future of the political system. In the field of security, modifications were approved in the regulation against organized crime that, according to experts, could benefit both politicians and criminals, by excluding 59 crimes from the regulations and establishing requirements that make surprise raids more difficult. In terms of the economy, reforms were promoted such as the pension system reform, the expansion of deductible expenses for Income Tax, and the reduction of VAT for hairdressers and beauty centers, decisions that spark debates about their financial implications and their impact on the national economy. The authoritarian and irresponsible behavior of the congressional majority raises questions about their true motivations and their commitment to the country. Do they not really perceive the harm they cause to the stability and international image of the nation? In this legislature, Congress has emerged as the main responsible for instability and crisis, leaving the Government in a passive and limited position. It is imperative that elected representatives take their responsibility seriously and act for the benefit of the citizens. The lack of consensus and the prevalence of particular interests over the common good only lead to a scenario of uncertainty and distrust. Congress has the opportunity to correct its course and regain the trust of the citizens, demonstrating a real commitment to the progress and stability of the country.
