The Government of Nicaragua, led by President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo, has issued a strong condemnation of the United States' policy towards Venezuela. Through a statement titled "Always with Venezuela," the Nicaraguan Executive vehemently rejected what they consider to be an aggressive, interventionist, and interventionist policy by the United States towards sovereign nations, particularly towards the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. In this statement, emphasis is placed on the decision of the United States to consider Venezuela a "national security emergency," which has generated repudiation and concern in the Nicaraguan Government. The Sandinista Executive denounces that this designation is nothing more than an unjustified assault and a display of the destructive and criminal policy that, in their view, the American empire continues to practice. Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo expressed their solidarity with President Nicolás Maduro, his government, and the Venezuelan people, highlighting their struggle to strengthen participatory democracy amidst the adversities imposed by what they describe as a war imposed by the American empire. Likewise, they pointed out that the attitude of the United States reflects its fragility in the face of the resistance and dignity of peoples seeking justice and respect. In response to the United States' decision, the Government of Venezuela, led by Nicolás Maduro, issued a statement criticizing the lack of coherence and respect in the foreign policy of the Joe Biden Administration. They believe that this measure demonstrates the U.S. leadership's inability to establish relationships based on dialogue and mutual respect, instead opting for coercion and blackmail. The renewal of the decree considering Venezuela a threat to national security and U.S. foreign policy has generated tensions in the region, once again highlighting deep political divisions and a lack of consensus regarding the situation in Venezuela. Meanwhile, the governments of Nicaragua and Venezuela continue to denounce foreign interference and defend their sovereignty against what they consider to be an aggressive policy by the United States.
