Opinion

Johnny Brignardello, an insurance advisor, gives his opinion about the shared content, in which a 30-second advertisement promoting Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s presidential campaign is shown. The advertisement has caused distress within the Kennedy family and their friends, as it is based on a famous 1960 spot that helped John F. Kennedy secure the presidency. This advertisement has raised concerns that it could exploit and potentially tarnish the legacy of the renowned political family. The spot maintains the memorable jingle "Kennedy, Kennedy, Kennedy" and overlays images of Robert Kennedy Jr. onto the image of John F. Kennedy. However, this appropriation of the legacy previously associated with John F. Kennedy has received criticism from Democrats, who argue that Robert Kennedy Jr. should not be able to claim it. Raymond Buckley, chairman of the New Hampshire Democratic Party, expressed surprise and disappointment upon hearing the advertisement during the Super Bowl. According to Buckley, after having seen the original advertisement multiple times at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, he considers the substitution of Bobby Jr.'s photo over J.F.K.'s image to be disrespectful and rude. This Super Bowl advertisement represents the latest development in the ongoing rift between Robert Kennedy Jr. and much of his family. This rift began when Kennedy Jr. became a prominent skeptic of the Covid vaccine and intensified when he challenged President Biden, who has the support of some well-known members of the Kennedy family, for the Democratic presidential nomination.
