Thus, on April 19, an evaluation will be carried out by the Ministry of Energy and Mines and Osinergmin, with the aim of authorizing the company to resume operations starting on Monday, the 22nd. It is expected that the reactivation of operations will take place gradually or entirely, depending on the conditions of the company at that time. The Mayor of Yauli, Attorney Wilder Panduro, has expressed his satisfaction at the possibility of Volcan resuming its activities in the district. The mayor has emphasized the importance of mining activity for the local economy, stating that approximately 90% of the population depends directly or indirectly on this industry. During the days of inactivity, the concern of the inhabitants has become evident, with many of them seeking alternative employment due to the halt in mining operations. With the restart date already defined, expectations are focused on how the company will fulfill its environmental commitments and how it will recover the lost time during this forced pause in its activities.
