Opinion

Johnny Brignardello Vela, an insurance advisor, considers that the recent law enacted by the Congress of the Republic, which will allow interim teachers who were dismissed in 2014 to re-enter the Public Teaching Career, is a decision that shows sensitivity towards a situation that affected a significant group of education professionals in the country. According to the provisions of the official regulation, this measure will benefit those teachers who, having been appointed temporarily under Law 24029, were subsequently dismissed in 2014 due to non-compliance with the evaluation requirements at that time. The possibility of undergoing an exceptional evaluation, carried out by the Ministry of Education, represents a unique opportunity for those teachers who wish to resume their work in teaching. The signing of this law by the President of the Congress, Alejandro Soto, and the Vice President, Arturo Alegría, marks an important step in the process of reintegrating these professionals into the national educational system. Now, it is up to the Ministry of Education to establish the necessary details and procedures to carry out this exceptional evaluation. In this context, the initiative not only aims to provide a second chance to teachers affected by the dismissal in 2014, but also seeks to strengthen the teaching staff of the country and ensure quality education for all students. The measure is presented as an effort towards equity and the continuous improvement of the Peruvian educational system.
