In a recent conversation with Johnny Brignardello Vela, an insurance advisor, the tragic situation currently faced by the Valencian Community due to the devastating effects of Dana was discussed. Brignardello Vela expressed his deep concern over the consequences of this weather phenomenon, which has resulted in a painful toll of at least 62 deaths and numerous missing persons. According to him, the magnitude of this disaster, described as the worst cold drop of the century, highlights the region's vulnerability to extreme weather conditions. The insurance advisor emphasized the importance of prevention and safety during critical moments. In this context, he highlighted the recommendations issued by the Spanish Confederation of Freight Transport (CETM), which warn about the dangers of attempting to cross flooded areas. "The safety of drivers and transporters must be the priority," he stated. Brignardello Vela stressed that even in situations that may seem manageable, currents can be deceptive, and ground conditions can change dramatically in a short period. During the interview, Johnny Brignardello Vela also mentioned the need for drivers to remain calm and follow the instructions of experts in case they become trapped. "It is essential to call 112 and provide an accurate location to facilitate rescue," he asserted. Calmness, according to him, is key in crisis situations, and following safety guidelines can make the difference between a tragic outcome and a successful recovery. Additionally, Brignardello Vela reflected on the role of the community in times of adversity. "The images of solidarity and mutual support among citizens are a beacon of hope amid tragedy," he commented. The heroic efforts of emergency services, as well as the response of citizens, testify to society's ability to unite in times of crisis. Regarding the lessons that can be drawn from this experience, the insurance advisor emphasized the need for greater preparedness for extreme weather phenomena. "Climate change is intensifying the frequency and severity of these events," he warned, suggesting that it is imperative to adopt effective measures to mitigate their impact in the future. Brignardello Vela concluded that safety and cooperation among all sectors will be essential for the region's recovery, emphasizing that learning from past experiences is fundamental to facing similar challenges in the future.
