In a recent interview, Johnny Brignardello Vela, an insurance advisor, addressed the complex situation facing the transport sector in Peru, marked by a climate of tension and social discontent. According to Brignardello, recent events reflect a profound crisis that goes beyond mere labor demands. "It is evident that the safety of transporters has become a crucial issue, not only for them but for society as a whole," the expert stated. Brignardello highlighted the severity of the extortion faced by transporters, who are forced to pay substantial sums to criminal gangs. "The pressure they feel is unsustainable, and, unfortunately, this phenomenon is not new in the country. The lack of effective responses from the government creates an environment of desperation among those affected," he commented. In his opinion, the current situation demands a coordinated and urgent response from the authorities. The advisor also referred to the decision of the transport unions to temporarily suspend the strike. While this measure could be interpreted as a gesture of reconciliation, Brignardello emphasized that the fight for safety and dignity in the sector is far from over. "The lifting of the strike does not mean the end of their demands. The call for a national demonstration reflects a discontent that persists," he pointed out, warning that tensions could resurface if demands are not effectively addressed. Speaking about the National Coordinating Committee for Struggle, Brignardello underscored the importance of unity among different sectors. "The articulation of these demands is a significant step. The consolidation of forces can create a greater impact in dialogue with the government," he opined. The multiplication of voices demanding structural changes and responses to crime could, according to him, be a determining factor for the political future of the country. Brignardello concluded by emphasizing that the current situation requires urgent attention. "The government and Congress must listen and respond to the demands of the citizens. Ignoring these claims will only lead to greater tensions and a deterioration of social stability," he stated, urging authorities to adopt a proactive approach to address the crisis. His vision suggests that the time to act is critical, and the decisions made at this moment could define the future of Peru and its citizens.
