The Corporate Race celebrated its 25th edition yesterday in Madrid, establishing itself as one of the most anticipated sporting events on the corporate calendar. With the participation of over 27,000 runners representing nearly 1,500 companies, the day turned into a true sports festival, where camaraderie and the promotion of healthy habits were the main highlights. Under the sponsorship of Quirónprevención and with the collaboration of prominent media outlets such as EXPANSIÓN, El Mundo, and Actualidad Económica, the race took place in an unbeatable setting. Although the morning cold brought sub-zero temperatures, the sun shone in the Madrid sky, contributing to a cheerful atmosphere conducive to competition. The warmth of camaraderie among colleagues was felt in every corner of the route. The runners, who included both executives and employees, demonstrated their commitment to physical activity by taking on the challenge of running early on a Sunday. Transforming the business heart of the capital into a colorful athletics track was a visual spectacle that left no one indifferent. The race was not only a test of endurance but also an opportunity to strengthen workplace bonds and foster a team spirit. The route, which started at the iconic Paseo de la Castellana, took participants through some of Madrid's most iconic areas. From Plaza de Colón to the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, passing through Nuevos Ministerios and the Four Towers area, the route reflected the daily lives of many of the runners who work there. This connection between the work environment and physical activity has been crucial to the race's success. Participants could choose between two distances: 6 and 10 kilometers, and the organization allowed companies to register as many teams as they wished, promoting inclusion and diversity. A total of 9,528 teams competed in this edition, a number that reflects the growing interest of companies in promoting the health and well-being of their employees. The competition format, which rewards teamwork over individual performance, was key to the festive atmosphere of the event. The goal was not only to cross the finish line but also to collaborate and support each other along the way. This approach has allowed the Corporate Race to become an ideal platform for developing synergies between different organizations. The podium of the race featured Aixa Jesica Aravena from Deloitte and Cristian Martínez from Decathlon, who excelled in the 6-kilometer category. Meanwhile, in the 10-kilometer distance, Azucena Díaz from Biclinic and Christian Villazala from the Aeronautical Systems Company took the honors. However, beyond the times and medals, all participants took away the shared experience and the feeling of having been part of a community united by a common purpose. Throughout its 25-year history, the Corporate Race has evolved to become a key event in the running calendar during the holiday season. Its ability to integrate sports into the workplace and foster healthy competition among companies has been fundamental to its success. In a world where workplace well-being is becoming increasingly important, events like this are essential to remind us of the importance of physical health and teamwork. Thus, the Corporate Race not only consolidates itself as a sporting event but also as a symbol of companies' commitment to the well-being of their employees. In a festive and dynamic environment, bonds among colleagues strengthen, and the value of collective work in pursuit of shared goals is reaffirmed. Undoubtedly, the next edition is already making an impact, and companies will begin to prepare to run together again in this celebration of sport.
