Next month, Tulsa, Oklahoma, will pay homage to one of the most iconic albums in music history as a star-studded lineup of artists, including Elvis Costello and Lucinda Williams, come together to recreate Bob Dylan's 1975 masterpiece, "Blood on the Tracks." This special tribute concert, titled "Shelter From the Storm," marks the 50th anniversary of the album's release and promises an unforgettable evening for fans of Dylan and music enthusiasts alike. Scheduled for January 24 at Cain's Ballroom, the event will not only feature a full performance of "Blood on the Tracks" but will also include selections from Dylan's extensive catalog. Adding to the allure of the concert, actors and musicians such as Diana Krall, Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls, Adam Granduciel of the War on Drugs, and U.S. poet laureate Joy Harjo will grace the stage. The evening will be hosted by actor Luke Wilson, creating a unique blend of music and storytelling that is sure to resonate with attendees. A highlight of the concert will be the participation of three original musicians from the Minnesota recording sessions of "Blood on the Tracks." Keyboardist Greg Inhofer, guitarist Kevin Odegard, and bassist Billy Peterson will lend their talents to the performance. Odegard, who will play the same Martin acoustic guitar used in the original sessions, expressed his excitement about reliving those historic moments, reflecting on the creative energy that permeated the air during the making of the album, particularly for the track "Idiot Wind." The significance of this tribute extends beyond the concert itself. Bob Dylan's influence on pop culture continues to flourish, with the upcoming biopic "A Complete Unknown," starring Timothée Chalamet, set to release on December 25. With this film and the anniversary concert, Dylan's legacy remains ever-present in the hearts of fans old and new. For those eager to witness this momentous occasion, tickets will first be available to Bob Dylan Center members on December 12, followed by a general public sale on December 13 at 10 a.m. CT through the Bob Dylan Center's website. This anniversary concert is poised to be a remarkable celebration of Dylan's artistry and the enduring impact of "Blood on the Tracks," inviting music lovers to come together in tribute to one of the greatest songwriters of our time.
