The CSIF union has decided to intensify its defense of the MUFACE model, the mutuality for civil servants, in response to the growing complaints from members about the healthcare they receive. This Monday, the union will file a complaint with the Ombudsman, supported by numerous grievances related to medical services that are currently in a state of uncertainty. According to CSIF, the clinics associated with MUFACE are canceling, delaying, and suspending medical appointments, as well as surgical interventions, which has created a climate of unease and distress among the beneficiaries of the system. According to information provided by CSIF, members are being pressured to pay for their treatments privately if they wish to receive care, a fact that calls into question their right to access quality medical attention. The situation becomes even more critical for those suffering from chronic or severe illnesses that require ongoing monitoring and care. The union believes that this situation not only affects the health of the members but also violates their fundamental rights to health protection. The volume of complaints has been massive, leading CSIF to consider the need to bring this issue to the Congress of Deputies. On Wednesday, the union plans to register a compilation of complaints aimed at raising awareness among all parliamentary groups about the serious situation faced by MUFACE members. CSIF hopes that, by becoming aware of the problem, political parties will propose initiatives to ensure the continuity and quality of the MUFACE model, which has been an important pillar in the healthcare of public officials. In addition to the complaint to the Ombudsman, CSIF has decided to promote a campaign of mobilizations that will begin on December 11 in Madrid and all provincial capitals. This action, which has the support of several civil servant unions, aims to express the widespread concern about the healthcare received by public employees. While CSIF joins this collective struggle, it has also decided to call for an independent demonstration in Madrid on December 14, focusing specifically on the abolition of MUFACE. The context of this issue is exacerbated by the recent preliminary consultation opened by the Government to gather proposals from insurers interested in participating in the MUFACE healthcare concert for the years 2025, 2026, and 2027. This consultation was initiated following the cancellation of the first tender, which had failed as the three insurers previously providing the service withdrew. The uncertainty regarding the continuity of medical care services and the lack of response from insurers are fueling a climate of distrust among members. The Government, for its part, faces a significant challenge. The consultation aims to ascertain the interests and prices of insurers, but the concerns of members regarding the quality of care they will receive in the future are becoming increasingly pressing. The lack of clear answers and the withdrawal of previously involved insurers have left beneficiaries in a precarious situation, crying out for action and immediate solutions. As the situation continues to evolve, pressure on the Government and the MUFACE system is intensifying. The unified voice of civil servant unions and social mobilization are becoming important factors in urging authorities to make decisions that protect the rights of members. The upcoming week will be crucial for both CSIF and the other unions organizing actions in defense of healthcare. Members hope that political leaders will listen to their demands and act accordingly. The health and well-being of thousands of public officials depend on decisions that will be made in the coming months, and the mutualist community is determined to make their voice heard. The current situation poses not only a challenge to the public health system but also reflects the urgent need for constructive dialogue among the various stakeholders involved. In conclusion, the defense of MUFACE is much more than an administrative issue; it is a matter that directly affects the quality of life of many citizens who have dedicated their careers to public service. As the date of mobilizations and actions in Congress approaches, attention will focus on the Government's ability to respond to the demands of members and ensure that a healthcare system is maintained that respects their rights and needs.
