War

In a tragic event that has shocked the region, two people lost their lives in northern Israel after a rocket attack carried out by the Hezbollah group. The Israeli police confirmed that a man and a woman, identified as a couple residing in the area, died as a result of the impact of one of the projectiles, leaving three children orphaned. This unfortunate incident occurred in the Golan Heights, where two more people were also seriously injured by the same cause, as reported by the Magen David Adom emergency service. The Israeli Army reported detecting the launching of around 40 rockets from Lebanon towards the central Golan Heights, with several of them hitting the area. In response, Israeli forces carried out an attack on a military structure belonging to Hezbollah in the town of Kfarkela, south of Lebanon. This event is part of a context of growing tension between Israel and the Lebanese militia, which has intensified due to the conflict in the Gaza Strip. Hezbollah, backed by Iran, claimed responsibility for the attack with dozens of rockets against the Nafah military base in the Golan Heights, further exacerbating hostilities in the region. In response to this situation, the Israeli Foreign Minister, Israel Katz, issued a stern warning to Hezbollah leader Hasan Nasrallah, indicating that if he does not stop the escalation of hostilities on the border, he would be held responsible for the destruction of Lebanon. Tensions between Israel and Hezbollah have reached worrying levels, reminding many of the 2006 war between the two parties. Since the outbreak of the war between Israel and the Hamas group in the Gaza Strip, violence has spread to other borders, claiming the lives of more than 500 people on both sides. The consequences of this spiral of violence have been particularly felt in Lebanon, with a significant number of casualties among Hezbollah militants. On Tuesday, the Israeli Army thwarted an attempt to launch explosive drones from Lebanon, thus preventing an even greater escalation of violence. These recent incidents have raised international concern, with calls for restraint and the search for a diplomatic solution to prevent further loss of life in the region. Instability in the Middle East is exacerbated by the presence of regional actors and the interference of foreign powers, further complicating the search for lasting peace in the area.
