The Canadian company Hannan Metals has announced a significant discovery in its Valiente project, located in the Huánuco region of Peru. It consists of an outcropping mineralization of copper and gold of porphyry type in a considerable area of 10 kilometers by 5 kilometers, extending from the Central Target area to the East Target area. This discovery, which is still open in all directions, has revealed extensive copper and gold anomalies in the soil, even with only 20% of the area explored, suggesting significant growth potential. Hannan Metals CEO, Michael Hudson, has expressed his enthusiasm for the continuous expansion of the discovery area in the Central Target, stating that they seem to have found what could be the largest copper and gold porphyry system in Valiente. Hudson has highlighted that, so far, only a small portion of the target area has been explored, with a team of geologists working on the project supported by technicians and local residents. The company plans to conduct a 70-kilometer pole-dipole induced polarization geophysical survey to demonstrate the scale and extent of the mineral system in three dimensions. Likewise, a LiDAR study is planned in the Central Target and East Target areas to help define outcrop areas and plan logistics more effectively. Regarding fieldwork in Valiente, during the optimal dry season, the focus is on soil mapping and sampling, yielding promising results with soil samples containing significant concentrations of gold and copper. Soil samples have shown values exceeding 0.1 grams per ton of gold and 0.025% copper, with a gold anomaly that has increased in size and now covers over 2 kilometers by 4 kilometers. The presence of copper-rich outcrops, identified by Hannan Metals, composed of azurite, a copper oxide mineral, and laboratory assay results, including channel samples up to 192 meters in length, have been described as impressive by the company. Additionally, the mapping conducted has shown the scale of the mineral system, with alteration dominated by sets of intermediate phyllic and argillic alterations, indicating that the exposed rock formations could represent the upper parts of a porphyry mineral system. Hannan Metals' new discovery coincides with a large airborne magnetic and radiometric potassium anomaly spanning 10 kilometers by 5 kilometers, reinforcing the importance and potential of this area for future copper and gold mining. The company continues to advance its research and plans to obtain the necessary permits to begin drilling in the area, promising to reveal even more details about this exciting find in the Valiente project in Huánuco, Peru.
