The presidential candidate of the Citizen Movement (MC), Jorge Álvarez Máynez, closed his campaign with a speech in the state of Puebla, in which he promised to end the power of money and corruption in Mexico. Máynez emphasized the importance of his party as an alternative to the old political parties and their entrenched corruption practices in the country. At an event in San Martín Texmelucan, he expressed his confidence in obtaining a good result in the elections on June 2, calling on the citizens to support his proposal for change. The 38-year-old candidate, known as Máynez, stressed that his campaign has managed to reach a sector of the Mexican electorate, especially young people, who have shown strong support for his political project. He highlighted that his campaign has exceeded expectations, even in the face of candidates with greater media presence like Xóchitl Gálvez, stating that they have already won the campaign despite the adversities and traps in the electoral process. In his speech, Máynez emphasized his party's proposals, such as increasing the minimum wage to 10,000 pesos per month, two mandatory rest days per week, granting access to one million young people to university, and creating a Mexico with justice and security for all citizens. He also urged the population to vote for MC candidates to achieve a legislative representation that would allow the implementation of these measures and transform the country. The presidential candidate highlighted that his campaign has managed to mobilize young people, who in turn have motivated their parents to participate in the elections with the hope of a better and fairer future. Although polls point to Claudia Sheinbaum as the leading candidate and Xóchitl Gálvez in second place, Máynez is positioned third in the electoral preferences, however, his message seems to have resonated deeply with a sector of the population. The elections in Mexico are approaching, with more than 98 million citizens called to vote to renew over 20,000 positions, including the Presidency, federal and local deputies, senators, and nine state governments. The electoral campaigns have concluded, giving way to three days of electoral silence before election day. It will be the moment when Mexicans decide the political direction of the country and whether the proposals for change and anticorruption by candidates like Jorge Álvarez Máynez manage to convince the majority of the population.
