However, the situation on the ground remains critical, with a death toll of at least 35,800 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and over 80,200 injured since the start of the conflict. Gazan authorities have indicated that these figures could be even higher, considering that there are thousands of people missing among the rubble from the attacks. The escalation of violence in Rafah and the Gaza Strip in general continues to generate international concern, with calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities and the protection of the civilian population caught in the midst of the conflict. The international community has urged Israel to respect international laws and seek peaceful solutions to resolve the conflicts in the region.
