In a review of history, March 28th has witnessed significant events in the field of management and economics in previous years. On this date, there have been events that have set the tone in various sectors, from private investment to labor conflicts and governmental decisions. Five years ago, on March 28th, 2019, tension escalated in Las Bambas, where violence reached a concerning level to the point of attacking ministers. The breakdown of dialogue between communities and the government of Apurímac during a strike reflected the complexity of the relationships among the involved parties. On the other hand, the Ministry of Transport and Communications showed willingness to compensate the land damages to the community of Fuerabamba, in an attempt to mitigate conflicts arising from mining activities. However, MMG's failure to pay the Income Tax affected the distribution of the royalty, generating additional tensions in the region. In contrast, a year ago, on March 28th, 2023, an arbitral award was issued by the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE) that had a significant impact in the labor field. The intervention in the collective bargaining between Costeño Alimentos and its workers' union set an important precedent by eliminating the fear of biased resolutions and establishing clear guidelines for future cases, as highlighted by experts in the field. These past events remind us of the complexity and importance of management in various areas, whether in the economy, labor relations, or governmental decision-making. Each historical date provides us with lessons that can be useful in better understanding the present and guiding our actions towards a more prosperous and equitable future.
