The President of the Judiciary, Javier Arévalo, has come out to deny rumors of a supposed confrontation with the Congress of the Republic following the ruling issued by the National Board of Justice (JNJ) that reinstated Inés Tello and Aldo Vásquez to their positions. Arévalo stated that there is no conflict of powers, but simply the compliance with a court ruling. In this regard, the President of the Judiciary dismissed the idea that congressmen will use this ruling as retaliation to block projects presented by the Judiciary. He called for the approval of important initiatives such as the Flagrancy Law, which will allow for more judges and forensic laboratories, as well as other currently stalled projects like Civil Orality and the Procedural Law of Labor. Arévalo Vela also addressed the actions of judges and prosecutors who improperly release criminals, asking that they be permanently disqualified. He also urged court presidents to appoint competent supernumerary judges and to remove those who rule in favor of the release of criminals. Given this situation, it is crucial for the Congress and the Judiciary to collaborate effectively for the benefit of justice in the country. Transparency, efficiency, and the fight against impunity are fundamental aspects that should prevail in the Peruvian judicial system. It is the responsibility of both institutions to work together to strengthen the Rule of Law and ensure the security and trust of citizens in the justice system.
