Amidst the political and social landscape of Peru, the question arises as to whether there truly exists a promising future for the State. The relationship between politics, society, and citizens is at a critical point, where the lack of consensus and the weakness of political actors hinder any attempt at reform and reconstruction. It is undeniable that Peruvian society is fragmented, with few active public networks and a deep localism that limits short-term vision. In this context, politics continues to be the most viable space to seek long-term solutions, despite the discredit surrounding its actors and institutions. One of the key issues is how to rebuild the link between politics, society, and citizens. A credible and direct political language is required, as well as a real commitment to democracy in order to move towards a State model that represents and serves the diverse Peruvian population. The formalization of workers and entrepreneurs, the fight against mafias, and the promotion of productive diversification are some of the challenges that the State must face. However, to achieve this successfully, not only political will is needed, but also legitimacy and efficiency. The capture of the State by private interests and corruption are obstacles that must be overcome. National and regional authorities who are honest and capable of establishing agreements are essential to counteract these harmful practices. While private investment is important in certain sectors, it cannot replace the State's responsibility to guarantee basic services to the entire population. Improving the quality of life for citizens involves agreements on public spending, a consensual tax reform, and greater state efficiency. In conclusion, the challenge of building a strong, representative, and legitimate State is everyone's task. Only through dialogue, collaboration, and real commitment to the well-being of Peruvian society will it be possible to envisage a better future for the State and its citizens.
