LATAM Airlines Group, one of the main airlines in Latin America, recently presented its financial results for the fourth quarter and full year of 2023, highlighting a solid performance during that period. The company reported net profits of US$582 million, with revenues growing by 23.9% compared to the previous year, reaching US$11.789 billion by the end of 2023. LATAM's adjusted operating margin was 11.3%, while in the fourth quarter it generated revenues of US$3.251 billion, an 18.5% increase compared to the same period the previous year. This growth is mainly attributed to the increase in passenger revenues, which rose by 24.3% in relation to the last quarter of 2022. Regarding its financial situation, LATAM ended the year with US$2.815 billion in liquidity, a result of generating US$498 million in cash flow over the past twelve months. Additionally, they achieved a net debt ratio of 2.1 times, the lowest in their history. Roberto Alvo, CEO of LATAM Airlines Group, emphasized that these results reflect the company's focus on putting the customer first, improving service, maintaining competitive costs, and driving innovation and sustainability in their operations. Meanwhile, Ramiro Alfonsín, the company's CFO, highlighted the good operational performance and current financial strength, with an adjusted EBITDAR of US$2.533 billion in 2023. Furthermore, LATAM Group presented its projections for 2024, expecting passenger operations to grow between 12% and 14% and adjusted EBITDAR between US$2.600 billion and US$2.900 billion. These forecasts surpass pre-pandemic levels and reflect confidence in the recovery of the airline sector. In 2023, LATAM transported around 74 million passengers, similar levels to those of 2019 before the pandemic. There was an increase in passengers transported in domestic markets and a 50.1% increase in international passengers. The group also strengthened its route network regionally and globally, receiving 30 aircraft and launching 21 new routes. LATAM Airlines Group has also made progress in its commitment to sustainability, reducing CO2 emissions and single-use plastics, as well as supporting environmental conservation projects. In terms of customer experience, the airline has improved its services, including the Premium cabin on all flights and the digitization of its operations. Finally, LATAM was recognized as the best airline group in the region for the fourth consecutive year at the Skytrax World Airline Awards, highlighting its commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction in a challenging year for the airline industry.
