Residents of Rafah, a city in southern Gaza, are facing dire conditions, with limited access to essential supplies amid ongoing Israeli attacks. Over 1.5 million displaced individuals are sheltering in Rafah, where food and basic necessities are scarce due to strict Israeli restrictions on aid transport. Despite international calls to cease the assault on Rafah, Israel remains determined to carry out a ground offensive to confront Hamas fighters in the area near the Egyptian border. The United Nations and aid agencies have expressed grave concerns about the escalating situation, emphasizing the critical need for humanitarian support. The healthcare crisis in Gaza has reached a breaking point, with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies warning that the gap between medical needs and available support is widening. Attacks on hospitals by Israeli forces have further exacerbated the healthcare system's challenges, leaving many vulnerable individuals without essential medical services. Currently, only a fraction of hospitals in Gaza are partially functioning, with Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza rendered inoperable due to sustained Israeli bombardment. To address the healthcare void, Palestinian workers recently set up a mobile hospital in Rafah to provide crucial medical assistance to the beleaguered population.
