Live from the Memorial Chapel of the University of Glasgow, BBC Radio 4's Sunday Worship on the first Sunday of Lent featured Rev Dr Carolyn Kelly and Prof Alison Phipps. Prof Phipps delved into the meaning of penitence in today's world, emphasizing the importance of companionship and love on the spiritual journey. The service, introduced by Rev Dr Carolyn Kelly, was led by Prof Alison Phipps, the University's UNESCO Chair for Refugee Integration through Languages and Arts. Prof Phipps, also a member of the Iona Community, explored themes of penitence, repentance, water, and ashes in her reflections. Acknowledging the challenges of our times, Prof Phipps highlighted the need for support and messages of love. The Chapel Choir, under the direction of Katy Lavinia Cooper, and Organist Kevin Bowyer, added musical and spiritual depth to the service.
