NATO Chief Warns Delay in US Aid Harming Ukraine's Battle Against Russia NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has expressed concern over the delay in approving US military aid to Ukraine, stating that it is negatively impacting Kyiv's efforts to combat Russia's invading troops. Stoltenberg expects the US Congress to provide continued support to Ukraine. While the US Senate has approved a $95 billion aid package for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan, Speaker Mike Johnson has yet to bring it to a vote in the House of Representatives. Highlighting the potential consequences of Russia's victory in the war, Stoltenberg emphasized that it would not only be tragic for Ukraine but would also increase global danger and vulnerability. Earlier this week, Russia launched missiles on Ukraine, causing damage to infrastructure and injuring at least 11 people across various regions. The Ukrainian military reported that air defense systems successfully intercepted 13 of the 26 missiles. In response to the ongoing conflict, the Ukrainian army is relocating some troops from Avdiivka to more strategic positions to counter Russian forces. Avdiivka has been a significant battleground since last year when Russian forces attempted to encircle and enter the town. The situation remains extremely difficult, as described by Oleksandr Syrskii, the commander-in-chief of Ukraine's military. In a retaliatory move, at least six people, including a child, were killed, and 18 others were wounded in a Ukrainian missile attack on the Russian city of Belgorod. Russian officials condemned the attack, labeling it as a crime committed by "Ukrainian Nazis." The targeted areas included a shopping mall, an outdoor sports facility, and residential areas. Ukrainian authorities have yet to comment on the incident. Looking to strengthen support for Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is scheduled to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday to sign a security agreement. The agreement aims to establish a framework for long-term humanitarian and financial aid, reconstruction assistance, and military support. It is anticipated that France will announce a 200-million-euro fund for civilian projects to be carried out by French companies. As the conflict between Ukraine and Russia enters its third year, Macron's office reaffirmed France's commitment to providing unwavering support to Ukraine and its people. Further details regarding the security agreement will be disclosed during a forthcoming press conference.
