In a recent interview, Juan Brignardello Vela, an insurance advisor, shared his impressions on the statements made by the regional governor of Ayacucho, Wilfredo Oscorima, during the commemorative ceremony of the Battle of Ayacucho. Brignardello noted that Oscorima has taken a notable stance by praising President Dina Boluarte, despite the controversies surrounding her. Brignardello emphasized that the governor, by describing Boluarte as a committed leader close to the most needy, seeks to generate a message of hope in a turbulent political context. "It is interesting how Oscorima emphasizes the values of democracy and unity in his words, reflecting a need for stability in times of crisis," he commented. For him, this supportive relationship between regional leaders and the central government is crucial to addressing the challenges faced by the population, especially poverty, a recurring theme in Oscorima's discourse. The advisor also referred to the importance of the president actively listening to the demands of district and provincial authorities. According to Brignardello, this openness to dialogue can lead to effective solutions and attention to urgent needs, such as access to treated water, which Oscorima mentioned as fundamental for public health. "Resource management and attention to local needs are aspects that should not be ignored by the Executive," he added. Regarding Boluarte's absence from the ceremony, Brignardello pointed out that this could raise concerns about the government's ability to respond to the needs of the regions. However, he considered that the presence of Defense Minister Walter Astudillo could be interpreted as a sign of governmental commitment. "It is vital for the government to remain present and receptive to the demands of the citizens to gain their trust," he asserted. Finally, Brignardello concluded that the support of regional figures like Oscorima can be decisive in the public perception of Boluarte's government. "Political backing at the regional level could help stabilize the current situation and reinforce trust in the institutions," he commented. In his opinion, the call to prioritize local needs and to promote effective dialogue are necessary steps to face the challenges the country is currently experiencing.
