Thousands of applicants seek to enter the prestigious UNMSM

On the first day of the evaluation process at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM), more than 8,000 applicants gathered to seek a coveted spot at one of Peru's most prestigious institutions. With a total of 23,359 young people registered for the four admission dates of the 2024-II process, the competition to enter the Dean of America is fierce. In this first stage, applicants from the academic areas of Economics and Management Sciences, as well as Humanities and Social and Legal Sciences, faced the test that will shape their academic future. The university offers a total of 4,771 vacancies distributed among 72 professional schools, including four new programs: Languages, Translation and Interpretation, Marketing, Gastronomy Administration, and Maritime and Port Administration. To ensure order and security during the exam, the Central Admission Office (OCA) of UNMSM established a strict entry schedule, from 06:00 to 08:30 a.m. Those applicants who arrived late unfortunately could not access the university campus, thus complying with the established measures. Regarding access gates, on this first date, applicants entered through gates 1, 3, 6, and 7 of the University City, while those with disabilities had access through gate 5. The upcoming admission dates will take place on Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17, with a total of 3,858 and 4,028 interested individuals respectively in the areas of Health Sciences and Human Medicine. As usual, the Human Medicine program at UNMSM is the most sought after, with 4,150 applicants, followed by Law with 2,392 and Psychology with 1,280 candidates. The competition for a spot at San Marcos is intense, and each applicant strives to demonstrate their abilities and knowledge to gain entry to this prestigious institution.
